LUCA Cross-Country League

The most historic cross country league in London.

The League races are held through terms 1 and 2, in various locations. These are a great chance to give a XC race a try, or to really push on for a podium place.

The races give students the opportunity to race as competitively or socially as they wish in some of London’s finest parks and measure their improvement over the season and years.

Races typically range between ~4-7k (one to two laps) for women and ~8-9k (two to three laps) for men.

And of course, each race is always followed by a well-deserved social.

Parliament Hill - 18/10/23

Our home ground and the inaugural event of the season for London university athletes, Parliament Hill always provides a fabulous race over undulating hills, as well as a first taste of grass and mud!

Mitcham Common - 01/24/24

Mitcham Common provides a very interesting race due to the artifical hills that aren't individually overly challenging, however their cumulative effect will be felt.

Wimbledon Common - 15/11/23

Also the University of London Cross Country Championship, Wimbledon Common is a beautiful course that makes you forget we're running in London.

Wormwood Scrubs - 02/21/24

A welcome break from the hilly races, the final LCL poses a chance to run next to one of London’s most picturesque prisons! Just watch out for the mud pits!
